U.S. Designated a Champion Country in the UN Global Education First Initiative
The United States is pleased to announce its designation by UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon as a UN Global Education First Initiative Champion Country.
Launched by the UN Secretary General and the UN Special Envoy for Global Education Gordon Brown in 2012, this initiative is an international call to action to raise education to the top of the public agenda by getting every child into school, improving the quality of education, and fostering global citizenship.
